How to choose a ceramic coating kit

A DIY coating kit adds a hard, glossy layer over your clear coat. Water beads off it, dirt has less to grip, and washing gets easier — useful against Canadian road salt, slush and summer UV. Every kit here is made to be applied at home by hand.

Before you coat

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so preparation matters more than the coating itself. Wash, remove iron fallout, clay, polish out any swirls you don't want to keep, then wipe each panel with a panel prep. Everything for those steps is in our Preparation Kits. After coating, keep it clean with our Maintenance Kits.

Ceramic coating kits: common questions

Do I need to polish before applying a coating?

Only if the paint has swirls or light scratches you want gone. The coating seals the surface as it is. If the paint already looks right, a thorough wash, decontamination and panel prep are enough.

Can I apply a coating in a Canadian winter?

Yes, indoors. Work in a heated garage on a cool, dry car, within the temperature range listed on the product page, and keep the car dry for the full cure time before driving in snow or rain.

What is the difference between a coating kit and a spray coating?

A kit is the base protective layer and is applied once. Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating is a quick top-up you use after washing to refresh gloss and water beading, on coated or uncoated paint.
